Iker Casillas showed why he is at the top of his game turning aside Fernando Torres’ well-struck shot after 20 minutes. Real, spearhead by Arjen Robben, were looking potent on the break and two left footed shots from Marcelo and Robben went narrowly wide of Riena’s posts. After the break Robben continued to be Real’s biggest threat as his forced Reina to tip over his 30-yard strike. With the match heading to a close Liverpool scored the crucial away goal, Aurelio whipping in an inswinging free-kick from the right and Yossi Benayoun became the Reds’ unlikely hero with a great header past Casillas.

Inter Milan 0-0 Manchester United (UEFA Champions League)

Match Description:

Cristiano Ronaldo had the best chance in the early stages at the San Siro as the winger forced a point-blank save from Cesar with a header from Giggs’ corner. United continue to press for the opener and should have gone ahead when Ryan Giggs went one-on-one with Cesar, but again the keeper made the save. Ronaldo watched on as he sent a header narrowly wide of Cesar’s post before the keeper turned away CR7’s free-kick moments later.
